My show with Blair Sinta and Steve Moore was a beautiful experience. The arched windows at Storyville look over the top of the Pike Place Market, and the dusky glow of the sunset was our backdrop as we started playing. Blair and Steve had never played together, which made it extra fun and mysterious. They sounded fantastic, and there were some stretches of music where I felt like I left my body and went somewhere else (much like Eleven on the show Stranger Things, but minus the terrifying, flesh eating monster).
Speaking of astral projection and nightmare creatures from the upside down, on September 10th and 24th I'll be back for further installments of Live Atmospheres at the Storyville Roasting Studio on Bainbridge Island. Additionally, on October 2nd, I'll be hosting an installment of Racer Sessions at Cafe Racer. I'll perform a solo set, followed by an open jam, some come and listen and/or participate! Please visit my the Live page of my website for more details.
Over the next few weeks I'm finishing some re-organization of my home studio, which was pretty well dismantled by the time I finished recording my last album. I'll also be refining my live looping rig, testing out some new gear and ideas. Stimulating!
Speaking of stimulating, I found this episode of Radiolab to be particularly wonderful. I'm also currently fascinated by Wim Hof and his approach to health.
Thanks for reading, and be well,
Dan
