In the months since my lovely Southeast tour I've been quietly plugging away on a variety of projects both at home and at work. It was a particularly long and dreary winter here in the Pacific Northwest, and now that the weather is shifting and the sun is shining my world feels reinvigorated with hope and promise. I feel the will to live returning to me! There are a few things to tell you about, so let's drive right in...
There has been lots of activity on my YouTube channel as of late. I've started posting something new every Friday, trying to cover a good variety of topics.
There are performance clips, some instructional content, and a new series I am calling Guitar Friends, where I talk about, and play some of my favorite guitars from my small but highly curated collection. Check out what I've been up to and subscribe to my channel, if you feel so inclined.
Speaking of the Southeast tour, there's a recording of my April 10th show at Bastion in Nashville, TN.
I loved the sound and vibe of the space, and there was a beautiful collection of friends and strangers there to listen. And my portable recorder happened to work! It's available on my Bandcamp page and you can pay what you want for it. Enjoy!
Also, things are underway to release a new album this year, probably in the fall. It's a studio recording of my solo improvised ambient guitar stuff...a culmination of a few years of pursuing this weird stupid human trick. I'm really excited to share it with you. More details to come...
Lastly, under the category of THINGS REALLY INSPIRING ME RIGHT NOW, I want to highlight this album by Adam Levy and Jay Bellerose, two of the deepest musicians I know of. It's a beautiful duo record. In particular, the song This Is Our House has been wrecking me on the daily.
Adam also has an excellent YouTube series called Guitar Tips. A guitarist could spend a decade processing the amount of good information he has shared there. I highly recommend it!
